Expert in curly hair too!! Master colorist and curly hair specialist, so you know what that means… The cut and color is on a whole different level!! Martin uses how the hair naturally falls to design a style of your choosing to select specific strands to color depending on the fall of the hair and curl pattern. Of course works on straight, wavy or any other texture since the design is specific to your unique hair. Best part is the hair education you get just sitting there in the chair. For example, he can tell exactly how your hair will lighten, color, and pick up pigment just by looking at your eyes closely. Crazy I know, but one of the many things I’ve learned over the many years I’ve been coming to him. Another thing he taught me, good hair ain’t cheap, and cheap hair ain’t good. I literally have my best hair ever. I don’t bother going anywhere else cuz I’m eventually going to end up right back in his chair, doing super expensive color corrective work, which of course he is also a specialist! 10/10 highly recommend! I came to Martin as a first time client with super botched hair, meaning I tried to color remove and bleach bath very dark dyed hair on my own and it had a lot of banding, patchiness and uneven spots. It was orange, red, yellow, brown and the whole mess you can expect from a DIY operation. He was really sweet about it. He never made me feel judged or awkward and he was honest about what he could achieve in one session. He spent 7 hours solely focused on fixing my hair color and giving me beautiful layers. My family and friends were so surprised when I showed them how it looked afterwards, and I’m sooo happy that he was able to do it for me. And on top of that, he was fair about discussing pricing. Overall he was very professional, honest and reassuring throughout the process when he could tell I felt nervous and he only had positive things to say. After years of coloring my hair, I finally decided to embrace my natural gray, and decided to embark on my gray transitioning journey. Anyone who has chosen to do the same knows how difficult and frustrating it can be. After extensive research, I found Martin Rodriguez online and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better stylist to guide me through this long process. He took the time to really listen to my concerns, explained my options clearly and thoroughly, set realistic expectations, and made what felt like a big daunting change less intimidating and more exciting for the end result. The transitioning to gray has been a difficult process for me, but I feel with Martin & his gray hair blending technique it’s making it a lot easier to go through. My hair has been growing out (although slower than I would like), beautifully and feels/looks very natural without such a harsh line of demarcation being so glaring. His custom blending made the lower part of my hair match the new growth nicely. Martin’s attention to detail, technique, and understanding of how to transition gracefully made all the difference to me fully committing to this transition.
